Components

LEC Translate 2008 includes the following common features: Control Center, ClipTrans, LogoTrans, MirrorTrans, TransIt, Microsoft Add-ins.

LEC FileTrans is included in the Business & Pro editions, and LEC Dictionary is available in the Pro version.

ClipTrans

LEC ClipTrans translates any text which is selected and copied. Paired with a new function which automatically identifies the source language, users with multilingual packages can easily and quickly translate email, text, instant messages and web pages.

LogoTrans

Use LogoTrans to translate as you type-a few sentences, a few paragraphs, or a small text file. Its two panes let you compare the original text and translation.

MirrorTrans

Use MirrorTrans to monitor your primary application window and automatically translate whatever text appears there. Use it to monitor your email inbox for new messages or monitor your word processor to translate a business letter as you write it. Or use it to check a translation by translating from any other Translate application back into the original language.

TransIt

Use TransIt to translate a sentence or two and pop them into another application. TransIt is great for translating each chat or instant message as soon as you write it, and you can use the new TransView window to instantly translate arriving messages into a more familiar language.

FileTrans (Pro versions)

Use FileTrans to generate batch translation of plain text and HTML files or folders, including web pages. Drag a file or directory icon onto the FileTrans window and the translation is automatic. You can even select which file types are to be translated, copied, or ignored.

For instant translation of a document, email, web page or message, you don't even have to click a button. Just cut and paste any text for automatic translation.

If you are using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Internet Explorer you simply select the language you want for the document you are viewing. If you want to translate large files, websites, or multi-document folders, the drag-and-drop features allow you to translate content into the language of your choice.

Microsoft Office program add-ins

The Personal Edition contains an LEC Translate toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer, allowing you to translate web pages from within IE with a single mouse click.

The Business and Pro versions of LEC Translate Italian include Microsoft Office program add-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Microsoft Internet Explorer and now Mozilla Firefox as well. These add-ins allow you to translate directly within these applications and save the translated versions as Word, Excel or PowerPoint files.

Business, Computer, Legal, and Medical technical subject dictionaries

LEC Translate products come with large System Dictionaries for use with general subjects. For the highest translation accuracy on particular documents, add LEC's Technical Dictionaries or create User Dictionaries yourself.

The Business version of LEC Translate Italian includes a business terminology specialised subject dictionary.

To obtain the highest translation accuracy possible, choose the Pro version. LEC Translate Pro versions include several Subject Dictionaries and LEC's Dictionary Browser. Use the LEC Dictionary to search and browse all dictionaries and even to create your own dictionaries. The LEC Dictionary is a powerful tool which you can use to get just the right translation.

Pro dictionaries can be obtained separately for the existing product price difference plus a 25% surcharge of the difference, so upgrading from Italian Personal to Italian Pro would cost £124 plus £31 extra. It is worthwhile deciding, therefore, whether you want the extra dictionary entries and utilities, typically around 60,000 extra words in specialist areas, at the time of purchase.

The LEC Translate Italian Business system dictionaries contain 105,944 entries for English to Italian and 106,531 entries for Italian to English. English to Italian and Italian to English Business subject dictionaries contain 1,236 translations.

The Pro version English to Italian Business, Legal, Medical and Computer subject dictionaries contain over 100,000 translations. Italian to English Business, Legal, Medical and Computer subject dictionaries contain over 100,000 translations.
