Virtual CD 3 TS provides the complete range of functions to be found in Virtual CD 3 (network edition) with the exception of support for audio-CDs. Please note that this is due to limitations within the terminal server technology itself and can not be circumvented by Virtual CD 3 TS.
Special functions within Virtual CD3 TS
Session relative mapping of CD-drive letters: Virtual CD 3 TS allows CD-drive letters to be mapped
independantly, i.e. each terminal server session has a maximum of 23 individual CD-ROM-drives available for using virtual CDs.The administrator may centrally define the number of drive letters available to each user or may alternatively allow drive letters to be administered by the users themselves within their particular sessions.
Central administration of user rights and CD-drive letters: Virtual CD 3 TS allows any system administrator centrally configure settings for drive use, user permissions and virtual CD-ROMs. Some users or user groups for instance may only have the right to use a fixed number of virtual CDs. Others may be able to "insert" and "eject" virtual CDs in their sole discretion. A third group of users may even be able to modify
the number of CD-drive letters avaiable in their particular terminal server session.
Real time control: The Virtual CD TS system administration interface lets any VCD TS administrator modify settings for drive use, drive letters and virtual CD-ROMs-from any network station. Settings can be changed on the fly and are reflected immediately in the user interface.
