FEATURES

Stories from the Warsaw Ghetto box Stories From the Warsaw Ghetto" recounts a unique episode in the history of World War Two and in the 20th century.
• The incarceration of half a million men, women and children in the "Jewish" quarter of Warsaw and their subsequent deportation to the death camps
• The first urban civil uprising of several hundred young Jews against the Nazis.

Follow in the footsteps of Anielewicz, the commander of the Jewish Combat Organization, at the age of 24; of Marek Edelman, one of the last survivors of the insurrection, who managed to escape from the Ghetto by the sewers. Rediscover the story of the famous pediatrician Korczak, deported with the children of the orphanage he ran. Discover the poignant testimony of Adia Szwajger, a young doctor confined to the Ghetto, who resigned herself to poison the children she had in her charge in order to avoid their death in deportation. Follow Yitzhak Zuckerman and Zivia Lubetskin, founders of the Lohamei Haghetaot Kibbutz who organised the resistance in the ghetto and fought relentlessly against the Nazis.

From the invasion of Poland in September 1939 to the insurrection of the Ghetto in 1943, 200 scenes re-trace the events which led to the mass arrests in the summer of 1942 and to the murder of 400,000 Jewish people, to the first rebellion in January 1943 and then to the uprising.

Discover the annihilated Jewish city thanks to maps and to three-dimensional representation using Quicktime VR technology; approach the life of he Ghetto through symbolic objects (the wall, the weapon, a poem...) Songs performed in Yiddish by Talila accompany these accounts.

This CD-ROM contains:
• A 3-D reconstitution of the Ghetto
• 200 animated scenes
• Testimonies from survivors
• Four and a half hours of sound commentaries
• 50 maps
• 71 biographies
• 10 songs sung in Yiddish by Talila
