What's New Inside BlackICE PC Protection?
In addition to comprehensive personal firewall and intrusion for individual PCs, BlackICE PC Protection now offers Application Protection. BlackICE's Application Protection combines:
Application Control– Many of today’s attacks involve various backdoors - Trojans and worms are commonly delivered via email, web and other Internet technologies. Once a system is infected, these malicious programs can easily be run without the user's knowledge. Application Protection helps solve this problem through the use of MD5 checksums to prevent unknown, altered or unauthorised programs from running without the user's knowledge.
Communication Control– If a malicious or Trojan program manages to infect a PC, it will often attempt to listen or communicate with other computers on the Internet. Communication Control lets the user determine which applications are allowed to speak on the Internet, thus preventing unknown or Trojan infected applications from communicating back to an attacker.
